Yes, went there a lot as a kid. I've got a cousin that lives there now, wouldn't say I'm jealous though as there isn't enough to do there. I have no doubt that he is a raving alky by now.

Manuel.

Nerja is lovely, used to drive the old dear down there for lunch whenever i was out there (which was a lot). About 90 mins from where she was (Coin) but well worth the drive.

Re: Malaga
I would go to Nerja or one of the towns near Malaga, but Malaga still okay.

Re: Malaga
Not Malaga but Marbella old town is worth a visit, far less commercial than Banus and lots of nice tapas bars and the orange square.
Pepes on the beach is superb for the freshest fish and getting pissed in the sun.
We used to go to Marbella every year in April staying in the Vasari resort just outside P Banus but gave it up as was becoming more and more tacky loads of brasses and full of hen & stag dos.
Also stayed at an apartment in Elveira but mostly full of brits out there to play golf.
In the last couple of years changed from mainland Spain to the north of Teneriffe (Puerto de la cruz) as great value for money.

La Carihuela between Torremolinos and Benalmadena. No skyscrapers or northerners in kiss me quick hats.
4 stops by train to Torremolinos and €5 in a cab. 1 hour from landing to beach.

Re: Malaga
I really like Malaga. That said I generally like most Spanish coastal towns. There's quite a nice beach side area that’s really “local”. The town is also just pleasant. Its a bit more of a Spanish experience than a Brits abroad one. If you fancy that kind of thing?

And what's the vaccination status requirements for traveling to Spain now?

Or have they packed in all that bollocks?

Re: Malaga
It's a good base. Lots of places along the coast to visit from there. Nerja is really nice, and you can get the bus from in town. I'll probably be back later in the year as we've got friends there.

Re: Malaga
My old dear lived a few miles down the road, some lovely little towns outside of the city. As for Malaga itself, its nothing special, that isnt to say its a dump, it isnt, just a bit ordinary.
